Star subscribes to Nielsen’s enhanced bibliographic service to ensure your titles are listed quickly and the data disseminated smoothly to all major retailers both physical and on-line.
We are also members of the Independent Publishers Guild [IPG]
Our management team has wide experience in all aspects of the publishing & bookselling industry and our aim is to develop long-term relationships with our clients, working as true partners, supported by a continuous two-way flow of information, we believe this is the only way to build and maintain sales.
As markets continue to consolidate it becomes more and more important for publisher’s to work with sales companies that are in tune with their needs. Unlike many multi-client agencies offering a rather faceless service, we wish to ensure that we have the time and resources to be closely involved with our clients publishing plans at an early stage, providing feedback, advice and support at all times.
When representing international publishers we aim to provide a service that would be equal to setting up their own UK based sales and distribution operation.
Many sales agencies focus on the key players at the expense of exploring other markets and sales opportunities, at Star we feel that it is vital to present our client’s books to as wide a customer base as possible and to this end our sales team is encouraged to develop the independent retailer as a direct supply customer wherever possible. Simply relying on wholesalers to stock your product is not a satisfactory answer to successful sales.
Our sales team call on their customers at least four times per year, by appointment, they include branches of national chains, as well as independent booksellers and specialist retailers and they are always keen to explore new sales opportunities.
